Having been established in 1968, A. Leo Pelds Engineering Co. (A.L.P.E.C.) has served as a civil engineering consulting and land surveying firm for 40 years. The Des Moines company was owned and operated by A. Leo Pelds until 1998, when co-ownership was assumed by his son and daughter, Voldemars Pelds and Ingrida Steinblums.
Professional Qualifications
A.L.P.E.C. is proud to offer its clients more than 65 years of combined engineering and land surveying experience. The firm is presently staffed by three Professional Engineers, one Profession Land Surveyor, one Engineer in Training, one Land Surveyor in Training, three Engineering Technicians, one Surveyor and two clerical staff members.

A.L.P.E.C. provides civil engineering and land surveying services in Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska and Colorado.As a principal civil engineering and as a conultant on land development profects, A.L.P.E.C. provides design, surveying and construction management services for residential, commercial and industrial subdivisions. Recent projects include: Grant Park, a residential subdivision in Waukee, Iowa-Berkshire Commons Office Park in Clive, and the Iowa-Spaghetti Works re-development project in downtown Des Moines, Iowa.
